On the 8th of October 2016 the world championship took place in Zurich: the ETH Zurich organized for the first time the CYBATHLON, an international competition for athletes with physical disabilities.
Team HASOMED participated successfully in the discipline FES Cycling. Pilot Hanno Voigt trained every day in the last two years preparing himself for the Cybathlon and took 4th place from a total of 12 with the best personal time.
TU Berlin and HASOMED developed a new concept for motion-synchronous stimulation of leg muscles for the success of the athlete. Unlike to existing systems, any recumbent trikes and ergometers can be used without extensive retrofitting for electrostimulation.
